Future U Today / Kemp Consultancy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of all clients. We recognise our professional responsibility to act in the best interests of those we work with and to uphold high standards of ethical and professional conduct.

This safeguarding statement is informed by and aligned with the professional and ethical requirements of the General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR), the Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC), and the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD).

Professional and Ethical Framework

In line with GHR, CNHC, and CIPD codes of conduct, we commit to:

  • Acting with integrity, professionalism, and respect

  • Working within the limits of our training, competence, and professional scope

  • Prioritising client safety, dignity, and wellbeing

  • Avoiding harm, exploitation, or abuse

  • Referring clients to appropriate professionals where issues fall outside our scope

 

Scope of Practice and Duty of Care

 

Hypnotherapy and coaching services provided by Future U Today / Kemp Consultancy are offered as complementary, non-medical support.

In accordance with GHR and CNHC standards:

  • We do not diagnose or treat medical or mental health conditions

  • We do not work beyond our professional competence

  • We reserve the right to decline, pause, or end services where safeguarding concerns arise

 

CIPD-aligned coaching practice further requires that:

  • Coaching relationships are non-exploitative

  • Client autonomy is respected

  • Clear professional boundaries are maintained at all times

 

Online Sessions and Digital Delivery

For online sessions, we uphold the same ethical and safeguarding standards as face-to-face work, in line with GHR and CIPD guidance on remote practice.

  • Sessions are conducted via secure platforms where possible

  • Clients are responsible for ensuring privacy and safety in their environment

  • Sessions will not be recorded without explicit, informed consent

  • We may pause or end a session if safeguarding concerns arise

 

Recorded Content

Recorded hypnotherapy or coaching materials are provided in line with CNHC and GHR guidance regarding client safety and informed use.

Clients acknowledge that recorded content:

  • Is general in nature and not tailored to individual circumstances

  • Is not suitable for use during driving, operating machinery, or in crisis situations

  • Should not be used as a replacement for professional medical or psychological care

 

Use of recorded content is at the client’s own responsibility.

 

Children, Young People, and Adults at Risk:

Our services are primarily intended for adults aged 18 and over.

 

Where work with under-18s is undertaken, this is done:

  • With written parental or guardian consent

  • With the young person’s welfare as the primary consideration

  • In line with safeguarding expectations recognised by CNHC and GHR

 

We recognise that some adults may be considered at increased risk due to health, capacity, or life circumstances. We take reasonable steps to safeguard such individuals, including referral or escalation where appropriate.

Confidentiality and Safeguarding Exceptions

In accordance with GHR, CNHC, and CIPD ethical standards:

  • Client information is treated as confidential

  • Confidentiality may be breached where there is:

    • Risk of serious harm to the client or others

    • Disclosure of abuse or neglect

    • A legal or professional obligation to share information

 

Where appropriate and safe, we aim to discuss safeguarding concerns with the client before taking further action.

Safeguarding Concerns and Escalation

If we identify safeguarding concerns, we may:

  • Pause or terminate sessions

  • Encourage the client to seek appropriate professional or statutory support

  • Share relevant information with safeguarding authorities in line with legal and ethical requirements

 

Hypnotherapy and coaching are not suitable for crisis intervention.
Clients in immediate danger are advised to contact 999, NHS 111, their GP, or local crisis services.
